Coverage & verification
Source: Washington Open Checkbook, 2023–25 biennium. Both fiscal-year totals reconcile independently to the state’s report, rounded to cents: FY2024: $34,960,860,261.78; FY2025: $40,879,535,891.13.
The state reports eligible payments from its AFRS accounting system. Coverage excludes payroll and benefits, protected payments, school apportionments, debt service, revenue refunds and payments from other systems, including higher education and some client services. Read the publisher’s coverage disclaimer. These figures are not a complete statewide budget.
Washington fiscal years end June 30. This release covers July 2023 through June 2025; it does not include current-year spending, contracts or payment-date trends. Supplier names use a conservative organization-only policy, which also withholds some legitimate businesses. Withheld amounts remain in the complete agency denominator.
